One Industry. Every Perspective.
The maritime industry is full of silos — sea and shore, flag state and bridge teams, operations and regulation, commercial and technical, naval architects and captains, academia and corporate. The most valuable conversations happen when those walls come down.
The Land & Sea Community is a private, moderated space where maritime professionals from across every discipline connect, challenge each other's thinking, and find perspectives they would never get inside their own organisation.
Whether you're navigating a career transition, leading through regulatory change, or building something new — this is where you find the people who get it.
Turn sea time into shore opportunities through networks that matter.
Your maritime journey doesn’t end at the gangway — it begins here.
Opportunities That Find You
The Land & Sea Community isn't just about conversation — it's about doors opening.
Employers, training providers, and project leaders regularly post opportunities directly inside the community. And because everyone's profile includes their background, skills, and ambitions — members actively help match each other to the right roles.
A fleet superintendent knows a port authority is hiring. A DPA hears about a consultancy project that fits your background. A fellow captain shares a leadership programme they just completed.
This is how maritime careers actually move forward — through people who know people, not job boards.
Why Join Now
The maritime world is changing fast — automation, new regulations, greener ports, evolving career paths. Amid constant change, what we must protect is the strength of the people who keep it running — and that’s exactly what the Land & Sea Community is built to do.
This is not a forum for endless chatter; it’s a focused space to connect with peers and leaders who understand what it means to balance life at sea, ambition ashore, and the future of our industry.
By joining, you’ll gain both insight and allies: people who open doors, challenge your thinking, and remind you that your skills matter far beyond the vessel.
"From the bridge to the boardroom, your voice belongs here. Strong networks build strong careers — and a stronger industry."

Why Caerulea?
Caerulea University is dedicated to connecting land and sea.
“We do this by protecting the ‘human’ in the industry’s operational resilience.” - Captain Naomi Vanderstockt, CEO of Caerulea
We connect individual abilities and desires to the industry's demand for skills — through courses, workshops, and coaching that help maritime professionals grow, transition, and lead.
The Land & Sea Community is where all of that comes together. A space for the lessons, connections, and conversations to live on — across ranks, roles, and sectors.
Naomi's Story
From Bridge to CEO
Naomi Vanderstockt is a Master Mariner Unlimited who spent nearly 15 years at sea, mostly on cruise ships but also on LNG carriers, dredgers, and tugboats.
At sea she often wondered: Who are the people writing the rules, developing the technology, operating ports? Were they also seafarers once? And what happens to the knowledge gained on the bridge when a career moves ashore?
After almost a quarter decade at sea, Naomi stepped into the maritime world on land — and quickly rose into roles that connected her with governments, industry bodies, and port executives. Now as CEO of Caerulea, she is committed to helping others find their path, build careers aligned with the lifestyle they want, and strengthen the bond between land and sea.
